Soulwax's main protagonists, brothers Stephen and David Dewaele have (allegedly) been slyly splicing their favourite records together in brazen bootleg fashion for quite a while now, with such unlikely bedfellows as Christina Aguilera and The Strokes skillfully conjoined to create beautifully formed hybrids.
Now they've gone legit, with a totally above-board, fully record company sanctioned 45-track album, which took one employee at their label six months and hundreds of e-mails, faxes and phonecalls to get permission for. The final result clashes such diverse tracks as Missy Elliott's 'Get Ur Freak On' with George Michael's 'Faith' and Dolly Parton's '9 to 5' with a Royksopp number.
