Hotpress Political Archive
Right from its inception, Hotpress insisted that while music was the ever-present soundtrack to our lives, it made no sense to divorce it from the wider world in which it was created.
Hence the magazine's commitment down the years to cutting edge coverage of politics and currents affairs.
Issues such as AIDS, drugs, sexuality, Northern Ireland, religion, racism and human rights have all featured extensively in the magazine and provocative thinkers like Eamon McCann and Michael D, Higgins have made it a home from home, while its reputation for hard-hitting interviews with leading national and international figures is unparalleled in journalism in these islands.
Presidents, Prime Ministers, Bishops and Paramilitaries have all sat in the Hotpress hotseat - and the results have included some of the most controversial and talked-about interviews ever.
