Morrissey autobio given publication go-ahead
Penguin Books have confirmed it will get a European release "within the next few weeks."
It's been anticipated ever since Morrissey announced he was penning it on Jonathan Ross' chat show way back in 2004 and it looks like we'll be getting our hands on the former Smiths singer's autobiography very soon indeed.
The 600+ page memoir was originally scheduled for release on Monday (Sept 16) but a "last-minute content disagreement" between Morrissey and Penguin last week suggested he might have to find a new publisher.
Today, however, online Mozza zine True To You added a clarification to the original statement Penguin issued:
"The publication of Morrissey’s Autobiography remains with Penguin Books. This is a deal for the UK and Europe, but Morrissey has no contract with a publisher for the U.S. or any other territory. As of 13 September, Morrissey and Penguin (UK) remain determined to publish within the next few weeks."
In '04, Ross asked Morrissey if he would be settling old scores.
The reply?
"Millions."
