Based on the best-selling novel by crime writer Jo Nesbo.
Snowmen are a lot of things to people: charming, playful, a fond reminder of the Christmas season. One thing they're not is all that scary. Well that is all about to change with the release of The Snowman , starring Michael Fassbender, which had it first trailer come out today.
In the chilly looking game of cat and mouse, Fassbender plays Harry Hole, a detective who investigates the disappearance of a woman whose pink scarf is found around the neck of creepy ...er...snowman. As he goes further down the rabbit hole, a mysterious serial killer seems to be calculating his every move .
The very talented Tomas Alfredson directs a film based on a best seller by Jo Nesbo . The man behind the cryptic Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and the atmospheric horror Let the Right One In seems like the perfect fit for Nesbo's brand of Scandinavian savagery.
A film adaptation of The Snowman has been in development as early as 2013, when Martin Scorsese was still attached to the direct the project. Rebecca Ferguson, Toby Jones, J.K. Simmons and Chloë Sevigny are also starring.
