The Northern Irish jazz man will hopefully be thanking his Mum, Dad and God in November!
Armagh-born and raised musician David Lyttle has made history by becoming the first Irish artist to receive a MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) nomination.
Lyttle is up for Best Jazz Act at the awards, which take place on November 4 in Leeds' First Direct Arena and will be broadcast live on ITV2. The competition is stiff with Polar Bear, Courtney Pine, Julia Biel and Binker And Moses also in the frame.
His third album, Faces, which features guest turns from Duke Special and Talib Kweli, was described as "one of the best, robust listening experiences you're likely to have all year" by Rolling Stone.
"Music of black origin has shaped popular music for the past 100 years and popular music today is still heavily indebted to the contribution of black artists," David reflects. "I have a deep love and respect for black music and I'm deeply honoured to have been nominated for a MOBO Award."
With Sam Smith, Jessie J and Beyoncé among the 2014 winners, it's a highly prestigious affair.
