Ailbhe Reddy brings a Lynchian dreaminess to the Other Voices Stage
Performing over at the Other Voices Stage, Ailbhe Reddy displayed all of the ethereal qualities of a group who would be featured in the credits sequence for the new Twin Peaks.
Illuminated by a thin beam of light against a purple backdrop and dressed in white, as a contrast to her group’s black attire, the visual aspect of Reddy's set seemed apt given her songwriting is one of contrasts. Playing upon the dynamic of an eerie plucked guitar, which would lead into magnificent bursts of swirling euphoria, the effect of each song gave the listener a sense of adventure with the promise of ending up in a new place entirely.
Two thirds of the way through her thirty minute set and Reddy’s dreamy sound had the audience in rapturous applause. A festival highlight literally tucked away inside a cabin in the woods, should you have missed her then all is not lost. She will be performing in Whelans on October 21st and her new single, 'The Tube' is due for a release in the near-future.
