Meteor vanishing into thin Eir
The mobile phone company's customers will seamlessly transition to Eir.
The mobile phone brand Meteor is set to close down this September.
The company was acquired by Eir in 2005, and all of its roughly 750,000 customers will automatically become Eir customers.
Eir's chief executive Richard Moat moved to reassure Meteor customers, saying “the transition will be seamless and Meteor customers will continue using their mobiles exactly as before.
Moat justified the move with reference to offering "better value" through "a single mobile brand and reducing the duplication of supporting two brands".
Meteor have begun fielding questions about the shut down on their Twitter page:
Hi there, your plan will remain unchanged. Thanks -Kevin
