KNEECAP, The Mary Wallopers and more back 'Stop The Game' campaign protesting Ireland v Israel fixture
The Ireland vs Israel match is set to take place at the Aviva in October.
KNEECAP, The Mary Wallopers and Fontaines D.C. are amongst the public figures to post in support of the Stop The Game campaign.
The campaign comes after many public figures and football fans have argued for Ireland to boycott the UEFA champions league match against Israel later this year. The reposted video features footage from past football matches, with clips of the ongoing genocide in Gaza edited in.
"In the last 30 months: Israel has killed 565 Palestinian footballers in Gaza," read the video. "Playing Israel is supporting Genocide."
Pals For Palestine, Bohemian FC, Daniel Lambert, Darren O'Rourke and Liam Cunningham have also shown support to the campaign.
The match is set to take place at the Aviva stadium on October 4, and as of now, the Football Association of Ireland have said this match will go through, so as to not risk disqualification. This has been met with much backlash from the public, with several protests taking place across Dublin within the past few months.
"We cannot play the representatives of a state committing genocide against the Palestinian people," Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) wrote in a statement on Instagram.
