Ibrahim Halawa arrived home today

Halawa was found not guilty of the fifteen charges held against him in an Egyptian court on September 18th, however, his release was delayed by one month.

He had been incarcerated for participating in a series of protests against a military coup d'etat on July 3rd 2013, which led to the removal of president Mohammad Morsi. Arrested along with 500 other protesters on August 16th 2013, the subsequent trial was postponed a total of 28 times, before 51 including Halawa were found not guilty.

Halawa arrived in Dublin's Terminal 1 today (24th October) at 11.05am.
