Cardi B hits back at critics who say she should stay out of politics

Cardi B claps back at critics who believe she shouldn't give her two cents on political matters. She weighed in on the government shutdown in the U.S., which is now in its 28th day. The shutdown has come about following a funding dispute over Trump’s controversial wall planned for the US/Mexico border.

The Bronx rapper recently shared her views in an Instagram story the video explaining to her followers that "it's been a little bit over three weeks. Trump is now ordering federal government workers to go back to work without getting paid. Cardi B refers to the 800,000 federal government workers that President Trump is summoning back to work, yet will not be paid.

Following criticism that Cardi B should stay away from politics and focus on her music, she took to social media again to hit back at the critics. "Soo many people under my comments talking about I shouldn’t talk politics ,I don’t know what I’m talking about , I’m dumb ! Well I know alittle something something.."

Cardi B is not the first artist to get involved with politics, and will certainly not be the last. The 'Money' rapper advised her 39.8 million followers on Instagram to "PAY ATTENTION !!!" to politics and start watching the news. Even though Cardi B admits "it's a little boring to watch the news but it won't kill ya".

She also stressed the importance of knowing what's going on in the community, stating "This can go on for months and it will affect our homes and Country."
