The Irish singer-songwriter took to Twitter to blast Enda Kenny for claiming he speaks for the people of Ireland in wishing President-Elect Donald Trump congratulations on winning the US election.
Her reaction comes after Kenny spoke with RTE in an interview which saw him pandering to the newly elected Trump, saying that his racist and dangerous comments were only made 'in the heat of battle.'
Lisa Hannigan has been touring around Europe for the last few weeks but has been vocally critical of Trump's misogyny and hate speech on Twitter. Her tweet comes as other Irish citizens are voicing their discontent at the Taoiseach for supporting Trump.
James Vincent McMorrow replied to Lisa Hannigan, saying: "at least have the courage 2 [sic] stand by your words @EndaKennyTD ,where Is the courage of your convictions".
