The Northern Irish three-piece recently visited the capital...
Belfast trio Yes Cadets returned to Dublin to promote their newest E.P. Le Mans.
Opening with a brilliant performance of 'Canada', the Cadets’ indie pop rock filled the busy space Upstairs at Whelan’s. For the uninitiated, their style ranges between Two Door Cinema Club, Vampire Weekend and Kings Of Leon.
As a three-piece, their range of sounds is incredible, all achieved through the clever use of synth and pre-recorded backing vocals.
'Seconds In A Minute' shpwcases the melodious harmonies by multi-talented drummer Lisa, along with an upbeat riff, which captures the sound of Vampire Weekend in their prime.
Led by front-man Alan, who is more at home picking out complex riffs than interacting with the crowd, the band also hides a secret talent in Lisa. Her vocal range has yet to be exploited in any of their major songs, the crowd being only able to catch a glimpse of it during her one solo song. Hopefully she can fill a bigger role when Yes Cadets resume touring this winter. Check out a preview of Le Mans on Soundcloud.
