Wretch 32 to Play Headline Gig at The Academy
Wretch 32 will perform live at The Academy Dublin on Thursday December 7th.
The London rapper burst into the mainstream in 2011 with his gold-certified LP Black And White which amassed over one million record sales and three top 5 singles including the gritty Traktor and Unorthodox ft. Example.
He followed up his early success with a Summer 2013 top 10 hit with Blackout,
Doing OK feat. Jacob Banks and some stellar live performances at Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Park Life.
Whistle ft. Donae'o, Kojo Funds is the lead single from Wretch (real name Jermaine Scott Sinclair)'s fourth album. It was released in August of this year and indicated a significant change in stylistic direction.
The song was hailed by The Guardian as "playful electronic funk that perfectly fits Wretch’s malleable, full-throated flow".
The bass heavy track was produced by Rymez (frequent Wiley collaborator) and saw Wretch teaming up with Donae’O and Kojo Funds.
His fourth album FR32 was released on October 13 and saw him explore new avenues even further, with much more introspection and a tone of reconciliation.
Tickets to the gig are €17.35 Inc. booking fee are on sale now from Ticketmaster.
