Whipping Boy reunite!

They’ll be playing in the Dublin Olympia (December 18) and Cork Savoy (19).
Tickets for both are on sale now priced €27.50.
According to a band source, it may prove to be a permanent arrangement with loads of new songwriting ideas floating around.
For the youngsters among you, the Dubliners garnered heaps of critical praise, but precious few sales with their 1995 Sony debut, Heartworm.
Subsequently dropped, the band limped on until 1998 and then called it a day. The story has a happy ending though, with the collection clinching the number seven spot in this year’s Hot Press Readers’ Top 100 Irish Albums of All-time’.
Meanwhile, two other, ahem, mature Irish acts have signed to the new Dublin independent label, 1969, that has been launched by promoter Frank Donnolly.
Named in honour of the moon landing, the imprint debuts on September 23 with Pugwash’s Jollity, and follows it up next month with the new opus from Dave Couse & The Impossible.
