whenyoung to support Garbage at Iveagh Gardens
The trio originally from Limerick will take to the stage this July.
London-based band, whenyoung, are lined up to support Garbage at their show in Iveagh Gardens on 18 July.
The band, composing of Aoife Power (bass and vocals), Niall Burn (guitar) and Andrew Flood (drums) originally played together in their hometown of Limerick. After a couple of years performing in separate bands, they reunited when they all found themselves in London.
Their work delves into a variety of topics from personal issues like love and insecurity as well as the political such as pacifism and Britain’s class divide. Power’s silvery vocals are complimented by the thorny tunes and chords.
Their new single, Future, was released on the onset of the debut album, Reasons to Dream, expected to hit the shelves on 24 May. Alongside gigs lined up for America as well as supporting Garbage, 2019 is set to be a big year for these newcomers.
Watch out for the next issue of Hot Press for an interview with whenyoung.
