West Cork singer-songwriter Dáithí Shanahan shares video for 'The Barmaid's Lament'
Watch the captivating new video for the track below
Following the release of his 'The Barmaid's Lament' in November 2020, Dáithí Shanahan has returned today with the long-awaited music video for the single.
Made up of stark shots of the sea and the land, the video powerfully complements the raw, earthy spirit of the track – on which the West Cork singer-songwriter plays the shruti box, guitar, bodhrán and tin whistle, alongside his vocals.
'The Barmaid's Lament' follows the 2019 track 'Cowboy', which boasted a brilliantly bizarre video of its own.
Dáithí has become a familiar face on the live circuit, following notable support slots for Junior Brother and First Class & Coach.
His latest video offers another compelling insight into one of the Irish alternative folk community's most enigmatic yet arresting voices.
