Watch:Ed Sheeran's cameo in Game of Thrones

It was announced months ago and been widely reported that Ed Sheeran would be making a brief appearance in the season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones. Well now the time has come and you can see his cameo for yourself.

In the clip, we can hear Sheeran singing what sounds like on old folks song as Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) enters the frame on horseback. The 'Castle on a Hill' singer is then revealed to be fully clad in armour, as a solider sitting by a campfire. Arya tells him its a pretty song that she has not heard it before. Sheeran then replies that "its a new one".

The red-haired pop sensation used Instagram to joke about about his appearance on the show not long after it aired.
