WATCH: New Pixies video

They've just rocked the Olympia over the course of two sold-out shows and today Pixies continue their delightful sensory assault by slipping out a new video.

Directed by Jonathan Furmanski and Matthew Galkin, it is coupled to new single and EP-1 track 'What Goes Boom'.

Logically reckoning, "well, something should probably 'go boom' in the accompanying video", they've opted to blow up guitarist Joey Santiago. We assume he survived the stunt, but if not, you can read his last words in our recent HP interview.

From the directors' mouths: "Our original vision for the ‘What Goes Boom’ video was to create an homage to a central, dramatic scene in Star Wars but, after that idea proved a bit too costly to produce, we decided the next best thing was to blow up Joey Santiago in the desert – the compromises we make for our art."
