Declan O'Rourke announces Dublin show
Tickets go on sale October 29 at 10 am.
Irish singer-songwriter Declan O'Rourke has announced a show at Dublin's National Concert Hall on February 14, 2027.
This follows the release of his eighth studio album, Oceanic, earlier this month - for which he has been touring and has upcoming shows scheduled in November around Ireland.
The record was his first release after several years away from music, during which he wrote two well-received novels.
“For a while, music simply wasn’t my daily MO,” explained O’Rourke in an interview with Hot Press. “I didn’t write anything musical for two or three years. That disruption to the songwriting cycle was a huge gap for me. But writing prose filled that creative need and ticked the same box, artistically speaking. It’s funny, when I came out of that phase, I was like, ‘How do you do this again? What is songwriting?!’
“I knew I had to let the music find its way back to me. Eventually, these songs for Oceanic began to sketch themselves and inch along as musings in a hobbyist way. Before I knew it, I had a whole bunch of songs.”
O'Rourke released his debut album Since Kyabram in 2004, which entered the Official Irish Albums Chart at No. 5 and went double-platinum over the following two years. It was also voted Debut Album of the Year by Hot Press and spawned popular tracks like 'Galileo (Someone Like You)', 'Sarah' and 'No Place to Hide'.
He went on to release several more records, including Mag Pai Zai in 2011, historical concept album Chronicles of the Great Irish Famine in 2017 and Arrivals in 2021, which reached No. 2 on the Official Irish Albums Chart.
During his years away, he published his debut historical novel The Pawnbroker's Reward, in 2021, hitting No. 2 on the Irish Hardback Fiction bestseller chart, followed by the second installment A Whisper From Oblivion in 2023.
The artist also recently made his acting debut, starring in the 2026 romantic musical drama film Almost With You, which premiered on July 9 at the 38th Galway Film Fleadh.
Tickets for his National Concert Hall show go on sale October 29 at 10 am here.
