WATCH: New Documentary Short by Irish Filmmaker John Mulvaney on Doom Metal outfit Solstice
Epic doom metal band Solstice led by Tallaght native Paul Kearns are the subject of a new documentary short by Irish underground filmmaker John Mulvaney. Originally formed in 1990 in northern England, Kearns joined Solstice in 2011 to much acclaim. Now after releasing their first full length album since 1998, “White Horse Hill’ sees the band back doing what they do best.
Mulvaney’s documentary short titled ‘The Hungry Gallows’ looks at the recording of ‘White Horse Hill’. The film details the bands motivations behind their music and their commitment to moving forward. Mulvaney is known from his ‘Fractured’ documentary series which chronicled the elite of the Irish underground metal scene.
