Michael Stipe performed a moving version of the classic David Bowie track 'The Man Who Sold The World'.

The former R.E.M. singer appeared on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, just days before his confirmed performance at the Bowie tribute concert this Friday, April 1.

Stipe sang a very stripped down, piano backed, no nonsense version of the song made famous by Nirvana's MTV Unplugged album.
