R&B and soul band WAR will perform at The Academy in Dublin on Wednesday, July 2.
The show is part of the American group's tour marking the 50th anniversary of their 1975 Grammy-nominated album Why Can’t We Be Friends?.
In addition to live performances, the 50th anniversary of the record is being marked by the release of remixes, new material and a collector’s edition of the original album.
WAR formed in the late 1960s and has sold over 50 million records worldwide. They are known for their activism and strong stances against racism, hunger, crime and conflict.
Their discography includes ten Billboard Top 10 hits and more than 20 Top 40 songs. Songs from the band such as 'Why Can’t We Be Friends?', 'Low Rider', 'The World Is A Ghetto' and 'The Cisco Kid' were popular hits in the 1970s.
These singles have been sampled by artists across multiple genres including Janet Jackson, Tupac and Beastie Boys.

'Why Can’t We Be Friends?' was broadcast into space by NASA during the 1975 Apollo-Soyuz mission.
The band’s current lineup is led by co-founding member Lonnie Jordan.
WAR have received three Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominations and were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2014.
