Video Premiere: Zapho and Ryan O'Shaughnessy '100 Ways'
Zapho will play Whelan's on April 10th, 2020.
Zapho and Ryan O'Shaughnessy's '100 Ways' was featured two weeks ago as Hot Press Track of the Day. They have now released its accompanying video, and Hot Press is excited to premiere it to the world.
'100 Ways' is the first collaboration for the Dublin-born singers, written in its entirety during a seven hour session at the Bayview Songwriting Camp. The neo-soul/pop track, although sunny in production, is about the slow decline of a long-term relationship.
Directed by Berlin native Valentin Braun, the video is a testament to how one form of art can inspire another – it features performances by dancers Ruby Wilson and Austin Fagan, which were choreographed specifically to flow with the lyrics. The video achieves a rarely represented, complex queer-straight ambiguity.
Zapho will perform live in the Whelan's main room on April 10th with support from Toshín and Audible Chocolate, and feature special guests including Bobbi Arlo and Tolu Makay. Purchase tickets here.
