Actor, comedian and broadcaster PJ Gallagher didn’t realise just how sadly topical he was being when he made the case for pill testing services to be introduced at all Irish music festivals. Yesterday, young music fan Jack Downey died after taking an unidentified substance at the Indiependence festival in Mitchelstown. We've no way of knowing whether pill testing would have made a difference in his tragic case, but elsewhere it has been proven to save lives.
