VerseChorusVerse releases rallying cry 'Free To Decree'
Listen to 'Free To Decree' below.
When VerseChorusVerse unveiled the ominously titled opus Outro in 2018, Hot Press had feared that the record might have been the swansong of the artist also known as Tony Wright. After a couple of years spent touring, publishing the indispensable rock ‘n’ roll memoir Chapter & Verse(ChorusVerse), dabbling in the world of spoken word and showing off his comedy skills in the web series The Also-Rans, the indomitable guitar slinger has thankfully made our fears unfounded as he’s returned for an encore of sorts in the form of new single ‘Free To Decree.’
A rallying cry wrapped in a punchy lead riff and powerful lyrics, this protest song sounds like the spiky love-child of Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros, Ministry and Nurse era Therapy? (to these ears anyway).
The north coast reared riff wrangler had this to say about his latest single:
“[‘Free To Decree’] is inspired by unity and is a celebration of our universal human rights to love...to an identity... and to the freedom to enjoy these; without fear of persecution or impedance of these rights from those blind to liberty.”
All sales of the song will go towards The Rainbow Project NI and you can buy it on Bandcamp below:
