Van Morrison for Lonnie Donegan tribute concert
Van Morrison will be performing alongside Brian May and Mark Knopfler (among others), at the Lonnie Donegan tribute concert next June
Van Morrison will be among the many artists performing at the Rock Island Line Tribute concert for Lonnie Donegan on June 21, 2004.
Also honouring the 60's skiffle legend at the London event will be Brian May, Mark Knopfler, Bill Wyman, Arlo Guthrie, Chris Barber, Bruce Welche, Ralph McTell, Chas & Dave and Albert Lee.
Scottish-born Donegan, who died late last year whilst touring (at age 71, no less), leaves behind a legacy of hits that includes 'My Old Man's a Dustman', 'Don't You Rock Me, Daddy-O' and 'Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavour (On The Bedpost Overnight)?'.
All proceeds from the tribute concert, which takes place at the Royal Albert Hall, will go to The Coronary Bypass Research and The Harefield Heart Research Foundation.
