Ultan Conlon releases acoustic album Only
Conlon is set to perform shows in Galway, Dublin, and Tipperary later this year.
Irish singer-songwriter Ultan Conlon has released his new studio album Only, featuring songs from his first two projects, Bless Your Heart and Songs of Love So Cruel.
The tracks are recorded with just acoustic guitar and vocals, presenting Conlon’s songwriting in a stripped-back format.
“Stripped back to just the song with the intention is liberating and leaves no shiny production to hide behind or glamour itself,” said Conlon. “It was always just me and my guitar and my songs so this feels genuine and nothing left to prove.”
Only is Conlon’s sixth album, following Last Days of the Night Owl in 2018, There’s a Waltz in 2020, and The Starlight Ballroom in 2023, the latter of which was inspired by a popular showband venue in Mayo and features a romanticised portrayal of rural Ireland.
Conlon will perform in Ireland later this year, with shows at Gort Town Hall, Galway on December 5, The Unitarian Church, Dublin on December 6, and Moynihan's Clonmel, Tipperary on January 23.
