U2 have confirmed ‘All Because Of You’ as the fourth single to be lifted from their Vertigo album.
Due here on October 10, the bonus tracks on the various formats include a live ‘Miss Sarajevo’ recorded in Milan’s San Siro Stadium and an acoustic ‘A Man And A Woman’.
The DVD also features the video for ‘All Because Of You’, which was shot last winter on the back of a truck crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, and a live ‘City Of Blinding Lights’ from the band’s recent Vancouver stop-off.
Fans should also start saving their cents for the Vertigo tour DVD, which was filmed in Chicago and will be accompanied by a limited-edition documentary.
Meanwhile, U2 took part in two Hurricane Katrina TV relief benefits over the weekend.
The band contributed a Mary J. Blige-assisted ‘One’ to the major network Shelter From The Storm, and a live from Toronto ‘Love And Peace Or Else’ to MTV, VH1 and CMT’s ReAct Now.
Instead of his usual ‘Co-exist’ bandanna, Bono donned one that said ‘Help’ and changed one of the lines to: “Lay down your guns, all you K-marters, all you Americans.”
The latter performance can be downloaded from www.mtv.com.
Staying in Toronto and Bono was the Master of Ceremonies on Sunday September 11 as Leonard Cohen, I’m Your Man received its premiere in the Isabel Bader Theater.
“I don’t know what to say about Leonard Cohen,” Bono lied. “Silence is probably what The Monk would call proper. But I’m not a monk, I’m an Irish rock star who loves the sound of his own voice and who is here to genuflect and pay homage to another pilgrim much further along the road in many respects.
“I would not know how high to jump or how far I was falling without Leonard Cohen. His songs are conversations I have been trying to have all of my life with some of the same people implored – Jesus Christ, Judas Iscariot, Yahweh, all the women in the world, Buddha… That’s what I admire about Leonard Cohen, that’s the trick.”
The documentary film includes footage of U2 performing ‘Tower Of Song’ with Laughing Lennie in a New York bar.
