Tresor 8
For the last decade, Germany’s Tresor has been the most consistent supporter of US influenced techno, and, as many independent record labels continue to fold, it’s testament to Tresor’s lasting power that they’ve managed to reach their eighth compilation in as many years.
For the last decade, Germany’s Tresor has been the most consistent supporter of US influenced techno, and, as many independent record labels continue to fold, it’s testament to Tresor’s lasting power that they’ve managed to reach their eighth compilation in as many years. There may be an equal division of tracks from both sides of the Atlantic here, but, bar Claude Young and Steve Rachmad’s minimal offerings, the sound is deep. There’s the darker, mysterious material, like Drexciya’s ‘Species Of The Pod’ and Aril Brikha’s strangely uplifting ‘Groove La Chord’ and dubbed out, mellower tunes from Round Two, Savvas Ysatis, Terrence Dixon and James Ruskin. A great guide to the deeper end of techno.
