Track Of The Day: FIGR, 'Long Gone' feat. Niamh Hinchy
Listen to the Limerick artist's latest track below.
Following the release of 'Fear' earlier this year, we're thrilled to present FIGR's powerful follow-up, 'Long Gone', featuring Niamh Hinchy, as our Track Of The Day.
'Long Gone' is the second solo single from the acclaimed Limerick artist – also known as Darragh Griffin of Hermitage Green. He originally penned the track in February 2019, and it went on to serve as the catalyst for writing, recording and releasing his solo EP as FIGR.
"At that point it was just a few chords and some muttered lines but I had a feeling it could become something special," Darragh explains. "I worked on the production of the track throughout lockdown, and got it to a point where I was happy to reach out to Niamh Hinchy – a superb vocalist and friend from Limerick.
"Niamh remotely recorded an entire vocal arrangement which really blew me away!" he continues. "Her interpretation and creativity elevated this track to another level. I've always loved contrasting serious topics with upbeat music, or visa versa, and Long Gone is an example of this. It is a conversation between somebody battling addiction and a friend who's trying to intervene."
