The Waterboys to headline Carrick Water Music Festival
Scottish folk rock band play their only Irish summer show of 2017
The Carrick Water Music Festival kicks off on 12 July and will be headlined by The Waterboys. The Scottish band was formed in 1983, but has never stayed stagnant in its musical choices. Their musical style has shifted over time, and their newest album, Modern Blues, is a blend between British/Irish rock and a Southern Americana vibe.
The Waterboys aren't the only ones to look forward to, though. There’s something for everyone at this year’s Carrick Water Music Festival with a diverse ensemble of performers. The first night sees Irish contemporary new music group, Crash Ensemble, celebrating their 20th year anniversary. The Dublin Gospel Choir, Come On Live Long, RTÉ Contempo Quartet, and Naoise Roo are just several of the other acts playing on Friday 14th.
