The Saw Doctors return with album, single and tour
The Saw Doctors are officially back in action, with a new album, single and tour on the way.
The fun begins on October 21, when they’ll let us loose on their sixth studio album The Cure.
Joining frontman Davy Carton and guitarist Leo Moran on the 12-song affair are new members Anthony Thistlewaite (ex-Waterboys) on bass and Fran Breen (ex-Lucinda Williams) on drums.
The album was recorded in Spiddal, near Galway, over the course of six months and the resultant tracklisting is ‘Out For A Smoke’, ‘Last Summer in New York’, ‘Addicted’, ‘Stars Over Cloughanover’, ‘If Only’, ‘Wisdom of Youth’, ‘Vulnerable’, ‘Me Without You’, ‘Going Home’, ‘Your Guitar’, ‘Funny World’ and ‘I'll Say Goodnight’.
On the live front, the first date of their Irish tour – The Olympia, Dublin (October 22) – doubles as the launch party for the album’s release. From there, they play The Spirit Store, Dundalk (27); Spring And Airbrake, Belfast (28) and Radisson SAS Hotel, Sligo (29).
They’ll also be releasing single ‘Stars Over Cloughanover’ in the UK on October 3, but have yet to confirm details of an Irish single.
