The Last Dinner Party release 'The Scythe' and announce headline tour with Dublin date
Their 35-date run will kick off at Dublin's 3Arena on November 14. Tickets go on sale on September 12.
The Last Dinner Party have released new single 'The Scythe' and announced an international headline tour ahead of their upcoming album, From The Pyre.
'The Scythe' and its accompanying music video were released this morning, following the announcement of their nearly five-month-long tour of Ireland, the UK and Australia. The tour will kick off at Dublin's 3Arena on November 14 and run through March 2026.
The music video for 'The Scythe' stars English actor Richard Durden (From Paris With Love) and Scottish actress Eileen Nicholas (Trainspotting). It was directed by Fiona Jane Burgess, whose credits include music videos for Wolf Alice, Christina Aguilera and girl in red.

'The Scythe' is the second track off of From The Pyre to be released, after the release of lead single 'This is the Killer Speaking' in July.
"This record is a collection of stories, and the concept of album-as-mythos binds them," the band said of From The Pyre.
"The songs are character driven but still deeply personal, a commonplace life event pushed to pathological extreme...This record feels a little darker, more raw and more earthy; it takes place looking out at a sublime landscape rather than seated an opulent table. It also feels metatextual and cheeky in places, like a knowing look reflected back at ourselves."
The full record will be out on October 17 via Island EMI. It comes almost a year and a half since their chart-topping, Mercury Prize-nominated debut first album, Prelude to Ecstasy.
The Last Dinner Party are previous winners of both the prestigious BRIT Rising Star Award and the BBC’s annual ‘Sound Of…’ poll. Upon its release in February 2024, Prelude To Ecstasy debuted at No.1 in the UK – scoring the biggest opening week for a debut LP by a band since 2015, while also becoming the fastest-selling debut album by a group on vinyl this century.
The news come after The Last Dinner Party pulled out of their planned performance at Victorious festival in solidarity with The Mary Wallopers, whose audio was cut mid-set after they displayed a Palestinian flag and chanted "free Palestine" at the festival.
"As a band we cannot cosign political censorship and will therefore be boycotting the festival," said The Last Dinner Party on Instagram, adding, "To see an attempt to direct attention away from the genocide in order to maintain an apolitical image is immensely disappointing."
Tickets for their upcoming tour will go on sale on September 12 at 10:00 a.m. via Ticketmaster.
