'The Dublin Lag'
You heard it here first: the Manic Street Preachers are recording an "album of city songs" to be completed next year - and our own capital has made the final cut
Nicky Wire has revealed that Dublin will feature on an "album of city songs" which the Manic Street Preachers plan to make next year.
Talking exclusively to Hot Press, he says, "Every lyric is based on a city, so there are ones called 'The Dublin Lag', 'The Cardiff Afterlife', 'Stockholm Alone'. We want to do a record like Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska – really stripped back, acoustic, wintery and glacier-like. Maybe just go to America with Steve Albini and bash it out in two weeks."
