The Arnotts in Frames cover band shock
Glen Hansard pulled out an army of high profile support when The Arnotts seiged the stage of Whelan's last night
In one of Dublin’s worst kept musical secrets in millennia, The Arnotts took to the stage of Whelan’s last night bearing a remarkable resemblance to The Frames.
There wasn’t room to swing your left bootlace as Glen, Joe, Colm, Rob and John treated the heaving crowd to some brand new material, before lashing through a set of old Frames favourites, including ‘Revelate’, ‘Lay Me Down’ and a scintillating ‘Santa Maria’.
Then it was special guests a go-go, with Liam O’Maonlai, Mundy, David Kitt and Paddy Casey all putting in appearances and kicking out the jams in what was a truly magical night, even if it was a bit sweaty.
Needless to say, Hot Press was in the front row and will bring you a full report in our next issue, out on Thursday March 11.
