Tame Impala announces new album Deadbeat
Find more details about the upcoming album below.
Tame Impala (Kevin Parker) has announced his fifth album Deadbeat, set to release October 17.
The record, inspired by the Western Australia rave scene, takes on a club-psych sound.
It "has Parker channelling an endless bummer, a self-deprecating fuck-up stuck in a negative feedback loop when he should have long had his shit together," according to a statement.
The news comes after the release of the Australian artist's singles 'Loser', released yesterday, and 'End of Summer', released in July.
Throughout his career, Tame Impala has released four other albums 2010's InnerSpeaker, Lonerism (2012), Currents (2015) and The Slow Rush (2020).
Additionally, he won a Grammy Award in 2024 and has been nominated for four, he won 13 ARIA Awards and 27 Nominations, he won the BRIT Award for Best International Band and was nominated for two Billboard Music Awards and an American Music Award.
Parker's track 'The Less I Know The Better' is part of the "Billionaires Club" with over 2 billion streams.
His most recent album The Slow Rush was his highest charting album to date in both the US and UK, with 14 top 10 chart positions around the world.
The multi-instrumentalist has worked with a number of artists, including Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, SZA, Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, Rhianna, Miguel and A$AP Rocky.
Deadbeat is now available for pre-order and can be found here.
