Stephanie Rainey Chats About Her New Single

Rising star Stephanie Rainey, who plays the Independence Festival (4-6 August), brought on board the Grammy winning Amy Wadge of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’ success to help co-write this distinctly upbeat love song
“Everyone has one person in their life that can turn around a bad day and pick them up when they feel completely helpless," Stephanie tells Hot Press about the new single.
"When I think of the song I always imagine the same level of love as when a dog greets it's owner.
"Pure love - up for anything you suggest and full of energy. They are crazy but really sensitive and emotionally intelligent. The chorus lyric is saying love me with all you have and I swear I'll return that love until you or I are no longer here. So, the message is live life to the full, loving who you have, before it’s too late.”
Her previous single, ‘100 Like Me’ carries and unveils a similarly moving and important message. Rainey speaks fondly of ‘100 Like Me’, reasoning that it can bring comfort and guidance to anyone, no matter how severe their suffering has been.
She says, “100 Like Me is a song for anybody who has ever thought they were the only one experiencing a certain thing or feeling a certain way.... For me the song relates to thinking I’m not good enough, whether it’s how I look, the person I am, the music I create or the friend I am.”
It was the second single to make waves across Ireland for Stephanie - her first being the viral hit ‘Please Don’t Go’. ‘100 Like Me’ featured in the Top 20 airplay and on the B Lists of national stations such as 2FM and Today FM. Further highlights include peaks within the Top 20 of Ireland’s iTunes and Shazam charts.
The video for the aforementioned heartfelt first single, ‘Please Don’t Go’, became an unexpected online sensation after drawing a huge audience. It captivated people and has since amassed nearly five million combined views across Facebook and Youtube.
