St. Vincent to host new history of rock music podcast
The new podcast is set to detail some of the genre’s most iconic moments.
American singer St. Vincent has become host of a new podcast detailing the history of rock music, which will highlight specific moments from within the genre’s evolution.
This is the second time the musician, real name is Annie Clark, is playing host to a podcast, following her 2020’s St. Vincent: Words + Music.
Produced by Audible and Double Elvis, the new podcast is due to launch on 12th January 2023.
Listen to a preview of the upcoming podcast below.
In a statement given to Clash, the 40-year old has said of the new venture, “It’s been so fun going back through rock history and revisiting some of my favourite artists and songs, including a bunch that don’t get the recognition they should.”
“When you put it all together, you can see how history repeats and echoes through generations, how music links the past to the present, artist-to-artist. And some of these stories are absolutely wild,” she added.
The podcast is set to detail some of the genre’s most iconic moments, which will include the Sex Pistols’ 1978 doomed US tour, and the moment Jimi Hendrix and Patti Smith first met.
Prior to History Listen’s announcement, St. Vincent most recently performed a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ on Stephen Colbert’s Late show in June.
This was prior to the passing of the legendary’s group’s vocalist, Christine McVie earlier this week.
St. Vincent’s last record was Daddy’s Home, which was released in 2021.
Daddy's Home can be streamed below.
