Spoken Word Stage Added to All Together Now Festival
Just when you thought the upcoming arts festival couldn’t get any better
With just four weeks to go until All Together Now debuts on the Irish festival scene, a spoken word stage has been added to the creative melting pot.
The festival, which will take place 3 - 5 August in Curraghmore Estate, County Waterford, has announced the All Curious Minds spoken word area lineup.
The area will be on the front lawns of Curraghmore House and promises to create a space to celebrate rising talent.
Over 50 artists will partake in spoken word poetry, rap, collaborations with musicians and readings. There will also be panels with authors of fiction and non-fiction, journalists, theatre makers and podcasters.
Internationally renowned vocal artist Reggie Watts will be on stage to perform his musical, comedy and beat boxing-fused improvised routine.
Novelist and journalist Will Self is another big name due to take the stage and, as one of the UK’s most high-profile writers, should make for an interesting watch.
New Yorker Saul Williams, whose poetry and written work has seen him perform in over 30 countries (and read in over 300 universities!), will take his White House-approved work to Waterford for the festival.
Madness frontman Suggs will bring his solo self to All Curious Minds to tell his life story through word and song.
Other names that can be seen on the All Curious Minds stage are Neil Hilborn, Tongue Fu, Kevin Barry, Leni Zumas, Stephen James Smith & Joshua Burnside, Abby Oliveira, Mango Dassle, Mia Gallagher, John Cummins and Shakalak, Jasmine Gardosi, Colm Keegan, Grace Dyas, Erin Fornoff, Oisin McKenna, Elaine Feeney / ATN Poetry Slam with MC Colm O'Regan, Brownbread Mixtape, Anna Cosgrave, Richie Sadlier, Joe Caslin, Sarah Davis Goff, Sarah Maria Griffin, Dylan Coburn Gray, Stephen Murphy, Clara Rose Thornton/Mod Words Cork, Waterford LIT, Juvenalia Podcast, Ashoka Changemakers, Alan Nolan and Paul Timoney.
There will also be Headstuff Lectures with Kevin McGahern and Eve Darcy.
The spoken word area joins a stellar lineup from the rest of the festival, including Fleet Foxes, Róisín Murphy, Mura Masa, and the Villagers.
