Sparklehorse tribute night set for Whelan's
The music of Sparklehorse will return to Whelan’s once more this summer, seven years after Mark Linkous’ death.
A band featuring the likes of Pixie Saytar, Tom McShane, Heliopause and The Mad Dalton will come together on July 2 to play a one-hour, career-spanning live set of Sparklehorse material.
The set will come after a screening of Alex Crowton and Bobby Dass’ documentary on Linkous’ life, The Sad and Beautiful World of Sparklehorse.

Linkous played the legendary Wexford Street venue as Sparklehorse on a couple of occasions - while touring It’s a Beautiful World in 2001 and while touring Dreamt for Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain in 2006,
Tickets priced €13 are available online from WAV Tickets.
