SAD SAC's Daniel Walters announces collaboration with Derry musician SOAK
SOAK has forged a reputation as one of the most compelling musical artists in Ireland.
Clothing brand SAD SAC and renowned indie-folk musician SOAK are joining forces for Daniel Walters' debut collaboration.
The Derry artist and Donegal designer are merging their talents to create an incredible 4-piece collection with a variety of colours.
25-year-old Depop sensation Daniel Walters has created clothing for the likes of Declan McKenna, Yungblud, Dylan Minnette, Blackbear, Biig Piig, Boy Pablo and Still Woozy - all from the comfort of his bedroom.
The remote parts of the North of Ireland may not have a reputation for producing rising fashion designers, but Daniel Walters cites his hometown - and specifically his bedroom - as the genesis of his entire success story. The artist’s passion for thrifting and hunger for success have allowed his remarkable talents for the industry to flourish. Being in the top 200 Depop sellers worldwide gave the self-taught designer the confidence to continue blazing his own trail as a DIY vetements veteran; SOAK has since become the latest musician to endorse his work.
SOAK's stunning Mercury Prize-nominated debut album Before We Forgot How To Dream was released six years ago, with the Northern Irish singer later releasing Grim Town in 2019.
For the new venture, SOAK enters the SAD SAC cartoon universe. Each piece is designed with a unique cartoon rendition of SOAK and SAD SAC, wholesomely designed for a fun indie crossover.
"It’s a special project, because SOAK is from Derry and I’m from Donegal, but only about 10 minute drive from one another! It's cool to see two Irish creatives merging universes!" Daniel tells Hot Press.
The exclusive release is set to drop on the June 17th on the SAD SAC website.
