Rosie Carney Releases Cigarettes After Sex Cover
Donegal based singer songwriter Rosie Carney has released a cover version of New York group Cigarettes After Sex's 2012 single 'K' on Friday.
The 20 year old mental health activist is signed with Akira Records (home to Haux, Phoria, Henry Jamison, etc).
The track has racked up over 160k Spotify plays since Friday thanks to some high-profile playlisting (including New Music Friday).
Last year saw the release of three singles; 'Awake Me', 'Your Moon' and 'Winter', each of garnering considerable critical praise.
NPR described her work as songs that "feel lived-in and worn, conveying a bruised ache well beyond her years" and Ladygunn magazine said her voice has “Bon Iver-esque tenderness, Laura Marling-like strength, and the haunting awareness of both".
'K' is available to buy/stream from various platforms.
