Rejjie Snow announces return to live music with gig at The Olympia in Dublin
Fans will have to move fast to snag tickets for what could be one of the most anticipated Irish hip-hop shows of 2021.
One of Ireland's most successful rappers, Rejjie Snow, is set to play a headline show at The Olympia Theatre on October 11.
Ahead of his second studio album, the Drumcondra born artist will bring his personal brand of catchy bars and hooks to the stage again with the By Myself Tour.
Rejjie's newest record will be at the forefront of the concert, with Baw Baw Black Sheep arriving on July 9. Four songs from the release have been put out so far, including 'Cookie Chips' featuring the iconic MF DOOM, who passed away in 2020.
Speaking about his new material, Rejjie said he "approached [the album] light heartedly from the point of view of making a short film through music."
"I always loved Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. I watch it all the time. I thought of Baw Baw Black Sheep like a soundtrack to it."
"The music is really colourful, and the lyrics are often happy, because that was my state of mind."
His first album, Dear Annie, was widely acclaimed, appearing on Hot Press' Albums of The Year list in 2018. In our review, Peter McGoran praised it as a "boundary pushing opus," writing that it was "a sublime listen from start to finish."
Tickets go on sale for Rejjie Snow's date at The Olympia this Friday at 9 am from ticketmaster.ie.
