American rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is in danger of serving a three year prison sentance for sexual exploitation of a child plus additional assault charges.
According to the Manhattan District Attorney Office, 6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, violated his 2015 plea deal twice. The office has recommended that he be tried as an adult and added to the sex-offender registry as well.
In October of 2015, the rapper plead guilty to using a child in a sexual performance when he was 18. 6ix9ine stood behind a 13-year-old girl as she performed oral sex in a video he posted online. As part of his original plea deal, to avoid sex-offender registry, he was told to not commit another offense for two years.
Following the trial, 6ix9ine was arrested twice in a Houston, Texas shopping center for allegedly choking a 16-year-old girl this year. Additionally he was arrested for driving without a license, assaulting a police officer and obstructing a governmental administration.
Since he was convicted at the age of 18, the rapper qualified for the “youthful offender treatment’ program which would keep his name off the registry. However, his recent actions put him at risk for losing this deal.

According to a statement obtained by BBC, Assistant District Attorney Sara Weiss claimed 6ix9ine violated his plea terms with his recent arrests and by promoting violence and gang activity on social media.
"[These crimes] seriously compromise his prospects for rehabilitation," read her letter to the judge.
The rapper is set to stand trial on October 2.
