PREMIERE: Lowlight Gathering's Charles James Livingstone steps into the spotlight with debut solo single 'Midnight Moon'
Listen to the debut single from the Monaghan artist below.
With the ongoing pandemic upending plans for his band, Lowlight Gathering, Charles James Livingstone has risen from the ashes with the launch of his debut solo single, 'Midnight Moon' – premiering below. The release mark the beginning of a thrilling new chapter for the Co. Monaghan singer-songwriter, with a full EP set to be released later this year.
The new project was written and recorded from Charles' bedroom at home – and finds him stepping outside of his comfort zone artistically, as he approaches his craft with a new solo perspective.
For 'Midnight Moon', he also joined forces with producer and singer-songwriter Ryan Sheridan, and enlisted old bandmates (Shay Sweeney on drums and Danny Mahony on keys) to record their parts remotely.
Exploring themes of escapism, the track tells the story of a couple who find peace and solace in the night, as opposed to the day.
Charles’ previous releases with Lowlight Gathering have garnered considerable praise – winning a Best Newcomer Award at the Pure M Music Awards for their first EP, Young Hearts.
Ahead of its official release tomorrow, March 11, get an exclusive first listen to 'Midnight Moon' below:
