SOAK announces Ireland tour for February 2027

SOAK has announced an Ireland tour, coming to Empire in Belfast, the Button Factory in Dublin, Dolan's in Limerick and St. Luke's in Cork. This will follow the release of their upcoming album decembers, due out December 4.

The tour will visit the UK before coming to Ireland in late February, finishing with several dates in mainland Europe.

SOAK is the stage name of Derry native Bridie Monds-Watson. decembers is their fourth studio album. While working on it, the singer-songwriter faced an auto-immune issue which prevented them from singing. Created during that period of silence, the LP is described as SOAK's most sonically and lyrically remarkable so far.

“When I try to describe the album,” Monds-Watson says, “I always go back to a quote from Thomas Wolfe's novel You Can’t Go Home Again where he says ‘You can't go back home to your family, back home to your childhood, back home to romantic love... back home to the old forms and systems of things which once seemed everlasting but which are changing all the time—back home to the escapes of Time and Memory.’

“I think for a long time I wanted to disprove that concept, I don’t know why I was so determined - maybe the familiarity of before felt safe. In the end I realised that was no way to live and had to learn how to lean into the rest of my life. In a way, I think decembers is about forgiveness.”

SOAK has performed at Glastonbury, South by Southwest, and Other Voices; as well as supported the tours of Julien Baker, Pulp, and The Lumineers, among others. They also collaborated with Fred Again.. on a viral track titled 'just stand there'.
