PREMIERE: Layzee Gold share video for new single 'He'
Listen to the new single from the Wicklow natives below.
Ahead of the release of their highly anticipated debut EP Can't Sleep, arriving later this year, Layzee Gold have shared the video for their powerful new single 'He'.
The electronic-influenced track was inspired by a conversation overheard by lead singer Philip Nolan – in which the term "damaged goods" being used to describe a local girl who was pregnant and single.
"I realised how cruel and horrific people could really be," he says. "Objectifying this young girl rather than a person and laying all the blame on her side. I decided I'd rather hear more songs telling stories like these, so I wrote one."
Drawing influence from the likes of Dermot Kennedy and Sam Fender, Layzee Gold have rapidly built up a reputation as one of the most innovative indie-pop groups in the country.
