PREMIERE: Irish-raised, Manchester-based artist Solis shares vintage 'Be Together' visuals
'Be Together' is taken from Solis' highly anticipated debut album Priestess - planned for release later in 2021.
Irish-born talent Solis has made a name for herself for her alluring, harmony-soaked melodies, inspired by the likes of Kate Bush and Jeff Buckley.
Hot Press are delighted to premiere the brand new video from the Manchester-based songstress, which sees 'Be Together' framed by vintage visuals and creative dancers.
The emerging artist released her debut single ‘Jigsaw’ to a warm reception last year, showcasing ethereal vocals carrying a profound, elegant charm. 'Be Together' was written, performed and recorded at Solis' home in Moss Side, and produced by Andy Connor.
A perfect partnership with the woozy atmosphere of the track itself, the 'Be Together' video carries a avant-garde montage of elegant moments - performed by several hand picked dancers who showcase their emotions to the song’s transfixing tones.
"'Be Together' is a song about the intense lust people can have for another person," Solis tells Hot Press.
"Even if it is not real, they love to love and be loved, to want and be wanted. Although the song was initially written as an observer on romantic love, it became increasingly relevant during the Coronavirus pandemic and I felt the lyrics gained new meaning as I (alongside everyone else) longed to be with loved ones."
"The 'Be Together' video was made remotely due to lockdown restrictions," Solis adds.
“I made a status asking for contemporary dancers to get involved in the music video. I then received replies from four amazingly talented professional dancers; Hannah Barron, Despina Triantou, Jodie Honeybourne, and Charlotte Swatton. My friend Hayley Rawlings (Southern Monkey) got some shots of me singing and created the video from all of the footage. Even the creative process of the video is a visual representation of the meaning of the song."
Looking forward to performing again with this track out in the world, Solis adds:
“I’m so humbled by the reaction that my debut track 'Jigsaw' received. I can’t wait to be able to start gigging again and celebrate the song releases with friends from across the Mancunian music scene.”
A captivating presence on the live stage, Solis has had success playing a wide variety of shows ranging from supporting Blossoms at Yes in Manchester to supporting Phoebe Green at Soup Kitchen. Other gig highlights include supporting Irish indie-rock act Inhaler, Fuzzy Sun and an intimate gig through Sofar Sounds in Manchester and Liverpool.
