PREMIERE: Ciaran Lavery shares video for 'I Love The Inevitability of Death'
'Hot Press' is proud to host the Irish premiere of 'I Love The Inevitability of Death'.
Offsetting one of his biggest fears with a healthy dose of deadpan humour, Northern Irish singer-songwriter Ciaran Lavery has written a sarcastic take on facing up to one of life's only certainties. Hot Press praised the single's DIY ethos on its release, and now we are delighted to offer the Irish premiere of the track's music video.
The video is similarly DIY and peppered with black comedy, following Lavery as he sound checks for a gig.
“The very basic goal for this video was to learn how to dance; pure and simple," Lavery explains. "I realised that I could cop out, and, like many music videos in the past, hire some dancers to perform while I sit in the background looking broody/concentrated whilst lip syncing to the song. I wanted to challenge myself within my ability range.
"I recruited choreographer Emily McDonagh, who I owe everything to. What I wanted from the video was something that looked complete, yet uncomfortable. I wanted to embody the very fear and reluctance that I had of being out of my comfort zone."
