BBC Studios have announced a UK and Ireland tour for the BAFTA and Emmy award winning series.
Planet Earth II, Live in Concert is set to play the 3Arena next year on April 1, 2020.
Hosted by science and natural history TV presenter Liz Bonnin, these concerts will feature breathtaking footage from the show in 4K ultra high-definition on a gigantic LED screen, as the City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Matthew Freeman, play the remarkable music by Oscar winner Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea & Jasha Klebe for Bleeding Fingers Music.
This live concert follows the success of the 2019 Blue Planet, Live in Concert tour.
Zimmer, who is renowned for his work on Gladiator, Interstellar and Blade Runner 2049, previously said that the BBC series was his favourite to work on.
“Planet Earth II is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever been involved in: some of the greatest action scenes ever put on film, some of the most emotional, epic, fragile scenes I’ve ever witnessed," he says. "Filmmaking at its absolute peak.”
Audiences will get to experience phenomenal live music while immersing themselves in the lives of the primates of Madagascar, hunt with lions in the remote sandy deserts of Namibia, travel Antarctic seas with penguins and watch with baited breath as a baby iguana attempts to flee the clutches of the racer snakes. The dancing grizzly bears and the bravery of a mother snow leopard are guaranteed to be a spectacle on the big screen.
Presenter, Liz Bonnin's recent environmental documentary Drowning in Plastic elevated the conversation surrounding single-use plastic and inspired many viewers to examine their consumption habits. She said she is "so honoured" to host Planet Earth II Live in Concert
"I will be just as thrilled as the audience to relive such magnificent scenes on the giant screen, accompanied by a spectacular 80-piece orchestra - it will certainly be an experience to remember!” she says.
Tickets for Planet Earth II, Live in Concert go on sale 14 June at 10am on Ticketmaster.
